BATH – Senior Spectrum recognized past board members’ achievements and celebrated a newly elected board at the 31st annual board meeting at the Maine Maritime Museum.
Gov. John E. Baldacci discussed the Dirigo Health Plan after a luncheon. Guests included Christine Gianopoulos, Bureau of Elder and Adult Services director, and members from Senior Spectrum’s advisory councils throughout central Maine.
Herbert Birch of Lincoln County was elected chairman. He is a retired Cony High School science teacher, where he taught for 34 years. He is also a cabinet member for the Central Maine Lions District. Birch is also an organic master gardener. He enjoys corresponding with people all over the world and has a collection of more than 225 varieties of bean seeds.
Senior Spectrum introduces three new board members: Holly Ingraham of Waldo County, Kay Laney of Somerset County and Chris Gifford, representing Kennebec County.
Officers are Birch; Joan Phillips, vice chairwoman, Sagadahoc County; Barbara Norton, secretary, Sagadahoc County; Harmon Harvey, treasurer, Kennebec County; and Dr. Dean Davies, past chairman, Sagadahoc County.
Continuing board members are Michael Clark of Kennebec County, Robert Wyllie of Knox County, Louis Abbotoni and Paul Cyr of Lincoln County and Wayne McMullin of northern Kennebec County.
