HARRISON – The annual event Christmas in Harrison begins with the blockheads, cookies and punch at 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4.

The town will celebrate Christmas in Harrison through Sunday, Dec. 7, ending with a Christmas brunch. FMI call 583-6564.

Church caroling

LOVELL – The Lovell United Church of Christ will be offering an opportunity to go Christmas caroling from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5. The bus will leave the the church at 5 p.m. Christmas caroling will be until 6:30 p.m.

Refreshments will be offered at the Lovell Library, then caroling will continue until 8:30 p.m. Carolers will return to the church.

OXFORD – The Oxford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the Historical building on Pleasant Street for their meeting and Christmas party with music by Elton Record.

Please bring a child’s unwrapped gift to be given to the Oxford Fireman’s Auxiliary for Santa’s visit to Oxford. Refreshments will be served.

Craft sale

HARRISON – The Bolster’s Mills United Methodist Church will hold a craft sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at the church. Crafts will include hand-stitched items, stamped items, and country crafts.

Greens workshops

PARIS – The McLaughlin Foundation Garden and Horticultural Center will offer a holiday greens wreath making class from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 6 and from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, Dec. 7, at the Center, 97 Main St. A cost of $25 for each session covers materials and refreshments.

The center will also present “From Mantle to Table,” a workshop on using greens, fruits, objects and flowers to decorate mantles and tables. Bring a favorite container for a take home centerpiece. A cost of $25 covers materials and refreshments. The workshop will be instructed by Michael Desplaines of Copperline Ranch.

Preregistration for both programs is required due to space limitations. Call 743-8820.

The Dec. 6 class and From Mantle to Table program to be held from 1 to 3 can be taken together for a cost of $45.

OXFORD – Boy Scout Troop 196 will hold a silent auction from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at the American Legion Post 112, Route 121. A chowder luncheon will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Adults $5, children 12 and under, $3. Chowders will include corn, fish or clam, and biscuits and dessert. Proceeds benefit the scouts summer camp program.

Salute to Christmas

PARIS – The Hills Alive Chorale will present A Salute to Christmas in a Small Town at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, and at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at at the First Congregational Church.
