1917 – 2003
LEWISTON – Rita S. Dube, 86, of 8 Mt. Hope Ave., died Tuesday, Dec. 2, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center following a very short illness.
She was born in Lewiston Jan. 30, 1917, the daughter of Dominique and Laura (Labbe) Asselin. She was employed at the Bates Mill as a Supervisor for 23 years then retired to raise her family.
She was a member of Sts Peter and Paul Parish. She was the widow of Fernand L. Dube whom she married on May 30, 1953 and who died Nov. 10, 1999.
She is survived by three daughters, Miss Lucille L. Dube of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, Irene M. Dube of Auburn and Anita L. Goller of Topsham; five sisters, Mrs. Annette Poulin of Auburn, Mrs. Carmen Bosse of Lewiston, Mrs. Jacqueline Dubois of Lewiston, Laurette Bolduc of Auburn and Mrs. Marcelle DesRosier of Bradenton, Fla.; one granddaughter, Jennifer Kennedy of Orange, Mass.; one grandson, William Goller of Topsham; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Cecile Asselin of Lewiston and Laurette Lefort of Montreal, P.Q.
