AUBURN – Yvonne S. Caron, 91, of Lewiston died Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Clover Manor Health Care Facility.
She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 3, 1912, the daughter of Zoel and Eva (Lalanne) Sylvestre. She was educated and graduated from St. Peter’s schools.
She married Harry O. Caron on Aug. 17, 1936, and lived in Lewiston most of her life.
A life-long communicant of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, she was a member of the St. Anne Society and the Art Patronage.
For 30 years, she operated Chez Yvonne Beauty Salon at 75 Wood St. She was widely traveled, a gourmet cook and an avid reader.
She is survived by her son, John H. Caron and his wife Linda of Lewiston; one granddaughter, Jaime L. of Lewiston; three sisters, Therese Landry of Auburn, Cecile Burgess and her husband Larry of Boca Raton, Fla., and Jean Lomonte and her husband Joseph of South Paris; one brother, Zoel Sylvester and his wife Lydia of Danvers, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harry; two sisters, Marguerite and Gertrude; and two brothers Sylvio and Robert.
