LEWISTON – The Bates College indoor track team will host the Sixth Annual Yuletide Dash for Hunger on Friday, Dec. 5 from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m.

The races, for all children 12 and under, will be held at the Walter Slovenski Indoor Track in the Merrill Gymnasium.

Registration starts at 4:30 p.m. Children will have the opportunity to try different track and field events from 4:30 until 5 p.m. After a group stretch with the Bates track team and the Bates Bobcat, children under four will run a 60-yard race, with others running a 200-meter lap around the track.

For entry to the event, participants should bring a canned good or non-perishable food item. Food collected will be donated to the Abused Women Advocacy Group (AWAP). Ribbons will be awarded to all race participants.
