PORTLAND (AP) – Bobby Andrews netted the tying goal and set up the game-winner as the Hartford Wolf Pack scored three times in the third period and handed the Portland Pirates their sixth straight loss 3-1 Friday in the American Hockey League.
Hartford goalie Phil Osaer made 31 saves, including 18 in the second period.
After a scoreless first period, the Pirates (8-13-0-2) grabbed a 1-0 lead when Andrej Podkonicky scored his first goal of the season at 4:42 of the second.
Andrews tied the game 8:41 into the third period, and the Wolf Pack (12-5-4-1) took the lead when John Jakopin knocked in an Andrews rebound at 12:26. Hartford iced the game when Corey Larose hit an empty net with 24 seconds remaining.
Portland goalie Maxime Ouellet made several brilliant saves, including stopping Andrews’ tying bid on a breakaway at 17:05 of the second period.
He finished the game with 19 saves.
