1918 – 2003

NORWAY – Vernon Rich, 84, of Mexico, died Thursday evening, Dec. 4, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 5, 1918, in Canton, the son of Leroy and Blanch (Morrell) Rich. He received his education in Mexico schools and on Feb. 21, 1947, married Lillian Ring.

Mr. Rich was a self-employed dairy and cattle farmer and also was employed at Timberlands. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and had been a member of local sportsman’s clubs.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian, a resident of Ledgeview Nursing Home, West Paris; a son, Carlton and his wife Valeda Rich of Roxbury; three grandchildren, Kathy Rich of Mexico, Angela Rich of Rumford and Anthony Rich of Mexico; two great-granddaughters, Alex Rich and Matraca Bellegarde of Mexico.

He was predeceased by a son Vivian Rich.
