PORTLAND (AP) – Colin Forbes scored out of a goal-mouth scramble with 3:10 left in regulation, lifting the Portland Pirates to a 3-3 tie with the Springfield Falcons Saturday in the American Hockey League.

Michael Schutte notched two goals for the Falcons (8-12-3-1) and Jean-Marc Pelletier made 44 saves.

The Pirates (8-13-1-2) had a season-high 47 shots on goal as they snapped a six-game losing string.

The teams entered the first intermission tied at one. Jeremiah McCarthy scored for the Falcons 8:02 into the game and Graham Mink answered for the Pirates at 18:50.

After Dwayne Zinger sent Portland ahead 40 seconds into the second period, Springfield tied it at two then grabbed a 3-2 lead when Schutte scored twice, at 14:43 and 17:24.

Portland goalie Maxime Ouellet made 30 saves.
