BRUNSWICK – Christine Marion Segars, 57, of Harpswell Road, died Saturday Dec. 6, at her home.

She was born in Oak Harbor, Wash., Jan. 29, 1946 the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth Hussey Jertzen. She attended local Washington schools. On July 10, 1982, she married Roger W. Segars. She worked as a stitcher for Auerbach and then Alpha Carbide. From 1983 to 1993, Mrs. Segars worked as a waitress at Grand City and then worked for ten years as a stitcher at L.L. Bean.

She enjoyed snowmobiling and bowling with her husband. She also enjoyed many crafts and was an accomplished seamstress. She had been a member of the Brunswick Emblem Club and Topsham American Legion Post Auxiliary for many years.

Surviving besides her husband of Brunswick are: her mother Elizabeth Hussey McGowen of Auburn; five sons, Michael S. Booth and his wife, Paula, of Watertown, N.Y., Robert L. Booth of Bath, Guy A. Segars and his wife, Dawn, of Brunswick, Jeffrey A. Segars and his wife, Laurie, of Bowdoin and Keith A. Segars of Bath; two sisters, Ann D. Goodenow and her husband, Gerry, of Brunswick and Debbie L. Bisson and her husband, Rene, of Orr’s Island; two brothers, Warren D. Van Tassell of Hornbeck, Calif., and Richard E. Van Tassell and his wife, Pat, of Millington, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, a great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
