1914-2003

WEST PARIS – Mrs. Vitolia L. “Vick” Mortus, 89, died Saturday, Dec. 6, with her family by her side, at the Ledgeview Living Center, West Paris.

A resident of the area most of her life, she made her home on Porter Avenue in Rumford. She was born in Rumford on March 12, 1914, a daughter of Anton and Marijone (Vilkas) Lukasuis, and graduated from Mexico High School, class of 1932.

Vick was a Communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Church and a member of the Lithuanian Daughters of America. She loved flowers and traveling with her husband. She was admired by her classmates and adored by her husband both as a girl and as a woman. She was married at Old Orchard to Anthony Mortus who survives of Rumford.

Other survivors include, a daughter, Cynthia A. Mortus of Newport News, Va., and a sister Mary Wiken of Rumford.
