Lewiston has long enjoyed a reputation for being a hockey town, and with good reason.
We have three of the most consistently competitive high school hockey teams in Maine. Support runs deep for these young men. They represent our city well. In fact, we hope to see many of these same young men aspire to be professional hockey players.
Now, thanks to the tremendous hard work and efforts of our city administration and local business people, we actually have professional hockey players in Lewiston – the Maineiacs.
Sadly, they are not getting the support that they should.
The Maineiacs have already given boosts to our economy, prestige and entertainment offerings. Let’s look more closely at this impressive hat trick.
Thanks to the Maineiacs, major economic investments were made to renovate the civic center.
Think, too, of the prestige the Maineiacs bring to our city. These outstanding athletes come from all over the world to play in Lewiston. We are now a destination.
Let us not forget the greatest benefits brought by the Maineiacs – the entertainment of the games themselves. If you haven’t seen a game yet, you have missed out. Our Maineiacs play phenomenal hockey: fast-paced, hard-hitting and exciting.
What are you waiting for? I guarantee that if you see just one game, you will want to know when the Maineiacs will play next. They are that good.
Your team needs your support.
