In the Nov. 5 edition of the Advocate, Whitney Elston spoke out against the slogan, “Not me, not now,” Every Wednesday, our Advocate staff gets together to read through the different articles. After reading the article by Whitney, we all agreed that this quote is ridiculous. Saying no to sex is perceived to be as easy as saying “Not me, not now,” and just walking away.
However, after discussing the article, we all recalled almost every detail of the commercials. Although this saying may be made fun of by most teens, and the commercials are cheesy, they still make a lasting impression in your mind.
People these days think that it is fine to go out and have sex with a different person each week, but do they think about the lasting repercussions it causes in their life? We believe that one should wait until marriage to have sex. This is the only way that the Lord will truly bless you and the one you love. Don’t settle for second best, wait for God’s guidance.
