POLAND- Maxx Levine deposited 14 points to lead Poland to a 47-35 edge over Gray-New Gloucester in boys’ basketball Thursday evening.
Jon Lecznar also chipped in with nine points.
For G-NG’s effort, Ralph Spanheimer netted 10 points and Louis Bernadine scored nine.
St. Dom’s 52, OOB 46
AUBURN – Chris Rainville dropped in five field goals and eight free throws for 19 points, leading St. Dom’s to a 52-46 win over Old Orchard Beach in WMC boys’ basketball action Thursday.
The Saints (3-0) built an 11-point lead after three quarters, while Ian Pullen contributed 16.
Corey Smith popped in a game-high 21 points, including four three-pointers for the Seagulls (2-1).
Gould 59, Eastgate 22
BETHEL – Karl Olsen drops in 16 points as Gould Academy snatched a 59-22 win over Eastgate Christian Academy Thursday afternoon. Teammate T.J. Savage scored 13. Eastgate Christian’s Nate Damm scored seven points.
Buckfield 58, Richmond 53
RICHMOND – Harry Hayes hit for 12 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, leading four Buckfield scorers in double figures as the Bucks rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit for a 58-53 EWC victory over Richmond Thursday.
Matt Lowell and Scott Wetherell each added 11 points, with Lowell knocking down three three-pointers. Freshman point guard Jamie Henderson chipped in 10 points and six assists for the Bucks (2-1).
Shane Hutchins led all scorers with 26 points for Richmond.
Hockey
Win-Dale 3, Freeport-OOB 2
FREEPORT – Nate Frechette scored a pair of goals to lift Win-Dale to a 3-2 win over Freeport-Old Orchard Beach in hockey action Thursday evening.
Frechette scored the first goal of the game for Win-Dale (2-0) on a pass from Adam Beal, and Freeport-OOB (0-1) traded goals the rest of the way.
Frechette converted a penalty shot at the 4:12 mark of the final frame to secure the win.
Geoff Paradis recorded a goal and an assist for Freeport-OOB.
Brandon Ellis made 24 saves for Win-Dale, while Keegan Pettit stopped 13 for Freeport-OOB.
