PARIS – Julia Billings Brown, 94, of Bethel, died Dec. 15, in Paris.

She was born in Bethel on Dec. 7, 1909, the daughter of Charles and Rose (Billings) Brown. She attended Bethel schools and graduated from Gould Academy class of 1928.

She worked for the Bethel Telephone office for 43 years retiring in 1972. Following her retirement she worked for the Bethel Inn and the Mt. View House in Whitefield, N.H., as a switchboard operator and office clerk.

She was a member of the West Parish Congregational Church of Bethel, the Bethel Historical Society and a former member of the Rebekah’s of Bethel.

She is survived by one sister, Faith Brown of Bethel; three nieces, Julia Bennett of Northfield, Vt., Carol Hatch of Freeport and Vivian Howard of Bridgton; and one nephew, Frank Flint of Duluth, Ga.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Beatrice Conrad in 1983 and Leona Flint this year.
