1916 – 2003

LEWISTON – Richard E. Fronk, 87, of Farmington, died Monday, Dec. 15, at CMMC surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Oct. 16, 1916, in Farmington, a son of Edmund and Margery (Voter) Fronk. He married Dorothy Luce on Aug. 31, 1941 at Farmington Falls. He was employed at Maine Dowel for over 30 years, retiring in 1978.

He was a former member of the Crystal Lake Grange, Allens Mills and was an active member of the Incredible Seniors Bowling League, relinquishing this activity only this year due to failing health. He was also an active member of the West Farmington Fire Co. and was a dedicated member of the B.P.O.E. 2430 of Farmington. He presided as tiler for a number of years. He was also a member of the Old South Congregational Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy of Farmington; a daughter, Beverley Avery and her husband, William of Bath; a son, David Fronk and his wife, Diana of West Farmington; five grandchildren, Angela Hodgkins and her husband Duane, Derek Richard Avery and his wife, Jessica, Jason Avery and his wife, Tiffany, Amanda Young and her husband, Tim, and Kimberly Fronk; two stepgranddaughters, Deanna Heath and Darcy Heath; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Alys Watson of Farmington; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Kevin Avery; and three brothers, Nelson and Maurice Fronk and Irwin Kempton.
