NORWAY – Mary Holt, a Norway native and self-taught musician, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at the Commons, 443 Main St.
Holt has a uniqueness and a style of songwriting that captures emotions and appeals heavily to young adults, according to a spokesman for the Commons.
At 20, she unfolds a lifetime of music appreciation and growth from her preteen love of classic rock and the Beatles to a later influence of Neil Young.
Her piano-driven songs are mostly about love and acceptance with some musical jabs spiked with a bit of good humor.
After studying at Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Mass., and at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, Holt is now in her third year of college at the University of Maine, where she’s studying English and hopes to pursue a career in music and the arts.
