PORTLAND – Nate Hamlyn drained a game-high 14 points and Jeremy Richardson added 13 points as St. Dom’s cruised to a 64-29 win over Waynflete in WMC basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Saints (4-0) Justin Fongemie hauled down 13 rebounds and Chris Rainville recorded seven of 24 steals in the lopsided victory.

Telstar 65, Monmouth 63

MONMOUTH – Josh Longway scored a team-high 15 points to lift Telstar to a 65-63 win over Monmouth in MVC boys’ basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The Rebels (4-1) shot 6-for-8 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter to edge the Mustangs (0-6) in a game where the lead shifted at the end of each quarter. Ryan Savage and Sean Caddington added 12 points apiece.

Monmouth was led by Mark Wade, who drained a game-high 35 points including four 3-point shots. Brian Gardner chipped in with 14 points.

Falmouth 56, GNG 50

GRAY – Dan Forcella nailed three 3-point field goals and garnered 17 points to lift Falmouth to a 56-50 win over Gray-New Gloucester in boys’ basketball action Saturday.

The Yachtsmen (5-0) made good use of four pivotal turnovers in the second quarter, outscoring the Patriots 14-4 for the difference in the game. Bryant Barr contributed 12 points, while Darren Mastropaolo chipped in with 11 in the winning effort.

The Patriots (1-4) missed a 3-point field goal which would have tied up the contest with 90 seconds remaining.

Mike Amergian shot a game-high 18 points, while Louis Bernardini recorded 17 points in the loss.

Edward Little 4, Bangor 1

BANGOR – Colby Gilbert converted a Jackson Keene feed at 3:20 of the third period into the game-winning shot as Edward Little downed Bangor 4-1 in boys’ hockey action Saturday evening.

The Rams opened the scoring as Nick Payson found the back of the net on a pass from Mike MPike and Andrew Morin at 3:26 of the first period for the early lead but were unable to hold the lead as the Eddies mounted four unanswered goals.

Kyle Smith tied the game at 1:37 of the second period setting the stage for Gilberts game-winner. Smith added an insurance goal in the third period to put the game out of reach.

Kris Bennett made 10 saves to register the win.

Poland/GNG 5, Sanford 4 OT

POLAND – Stephen Michaud scored on a penalty shot with 4:14 left in overtime to lift Poland- Gray New Gloucester to a 5-4 win over Sanford in hockey action Saturday evening.

Brad Davie tallied four goals while Michaud added three assists to go along with his game winning shot.

Sanford’s goals were scored by Jeremy Belmont, Corey Broniarcyk, Ryan Sarson, and Adam Courtney.

Lewiston 2, Brewer 1

BREWER – Adam Longchamps scored the eventual game-winner at 4:31 of the second period to lift Lewiston to a 2-1 victory over Brewer in hockey action Saturday evening.

Jake Girardin opened the scoring for the Blue Devils (4-0) at the 2:43 mark of the second period on a relay from Adam Wilding and Kevin Leblanc.

Ben Caldwell cut the Lewiston lead in half on a power play goal at 7:06 of the third period, but the Witches (2-2) couldn’t repeat before the final buzzer.

Nick Langlais had a relaxed night in goal for the Blue Devils, making six saves, while Aaron Saunders kicked back 37 shots for Brewer.

Leavitt 3, Maranacook 2

TURNER – Jimmy Cyr stroked the winning goal in overtime as Leavitt defeated Maranacook 3-2 in hockey action Saturday.

The Black Bears (1-2) jumped out to an early lead with back-to-back goals by Piner Markovichick and Andrew Mack in the opening minutes of the contest.

The Hornets (2-2) responded with a goal by Nick Bourgoin at 2:56 of the first period. Following a scoreless second frame, Chad Chaisson found Brian Metayer for the equalizer at 11:03 of the third period.

Fryeburg 13, Lisbon/Monmouth 1

BRIDGTON – Nick Lawrence and Jordon DeLong peppered the puck, scoring four goals apiece, to catapult Freyburg Academy to a 13-1 pummeling of Lisbon/Monmouth in ice hockey action Saturday.

Kris Charlong got things started with a goal 1:39 into the first period, the first of

six in the opening frame for the Raiders (3-0).

The Greystangs finally responded at 7:19 of the second period to make it 7-1 when Tim Meehl converted a relay from Adam McCrater and Wayne Smith to spoil the shutout.

The Raiders were dominant throughout, sharing the work load as Josh Carter and Andrew Jump scored single goals in a slower paced third period.

Justin Glovin and Jason Littlefield defended a combined 55 shots on goal in net for the Greystangs.
