LISBON FALLS – Bernadette Lorraine Kons, 59, a resident of Hewey Street, died Sunday morning at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick with her family at her side, following a long illness.
She was born in Lisbon Falls, Sept. 4, 1944, the daughter of Arsene and Rose (LeBlond) St. Amant. She was educated in the grammar schools of Lisbon Falls and was a 1962 graduate of Lisbon Falls High School. On Dec. 21, 1968, she married Arthur J. Kons in Brunswick. He died June 29, 1998.
Mrs. Kons was employed for many years at Worumbo Mill in Lisbon Falls as a secretary, later at the Mill Fabric Center as a bookkeeper and more recently at B.N.A.S. Navy Lodge in the housekeeping department before becoming disabled due to illness two years ago. She had several interest that she loved to pursue including knitting, sewing, crocheting, quilting, reading, putting together puzzles, playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles.
She loved her family deeply, they were her most important interest, and were center of her life. She will be sadly missed by all those she touched.
Survivors include: one daughter Mrs. John (Laurie A.) Pitcher of Lisbon Falls; one son, James A. Kons and his wife, Kathleen S., of Topsham; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Paxton of Nev., Mrs. Joanne Bennett of N.J., and Mrs. Kenneth (Mary Jane) Beal of Lisbon Falls; one brother, Lionel St. Amant and his wife, Nancy, of Freeport; three grandchildren, Sherri Pitcher, Reilly J.R. Kons and Abigail J. Kons, and soon-to-be-born granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Pitcher; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dan (Karen) Lajoie of Lewiston and a stepson Michael Kons of Lewiston.
She was predeceased by five siblings, Theresa Jolin and Rene, Emile, Robert and Richard St. Amant.
