FARMINGTON – A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, at Farmington Baptist Church on the Whittier Road.

Hoop shooting

FARMINGTON – The Elks’ Hoop Shoot contest will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at Mount Blue High School. The contest is open to girls and boys, ages 8 to 13, and is sponsored by Farmington Elks Lodge 2430. Local winners advance to the district, state, regional and national competition. The national finals are held in Springfield, Mass.

New Year’s dance

FARMINGTON – A New Year’s Eve dance with Borderline Express will be held from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at the Elks Lodge. Members and guests are welcome. Snacks, party favors and midnight toast will be provided, and a taxi will be available. Admission is $25 per couple or $12.50 for a single admission.
