RUMFORD – People who want to get moving and walk, but who don’t like the frigid winter weather have a whole new set of options.

Sarah Coolidge, director of the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition’s Project NOW, has arranged indoor places for walkers during the winter.

Area places for walking are:

• Bethel – Telstar Regional High School, 6 to 7 a.m., and 2:30 to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Walkers must enter through the main entrance, then sign in and out at the office.

• Dixfield – Dirigo High School, 6:30 to 7:30 a.m., and 5 to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Walkers must enter through the main entrance, then sign in at the office.

• Mexico – Mexico Recreation Center, 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday. Free for Wellness Center members; $10 fee for others.

• Rumford – Rumford Adult Activities Center (former armory), 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Walkers must call Oxford County Association for Retarded Citizens Director Joseph Sirois before coming at 364-4561.

• Rumford – Mountain Valley High School, 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday. Walkers must enter through the front entrance, sign in, out.

• Rumford – Greater Rumford Community Center, 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
