LIVERMORE – Several violations were listed Monday night by Code Enforcement Officer Richard Marble including the alleged illegal clearing of land next to Long Pond for which a permit had been denied recently by the Board of Appeals.

Marble said he’s heard nothing from either the landowner or the town’s attorney since the appeals board decision.

On Norton Road, an addition has been built too close to a wetland after a variance was sought and denied. Marble is awaiting word as to when the addition will be removed.

Three separate junkyard complaints were lodged about properties on Route 4, and another has been received about animals, water in the road, and junk vehicles, all on one lot on Route 4.

On Goding road, a mobile home was been placed too close to the road and the owner will have to go to the Planning Board about it.

The owner of land on Long Pond and Crash Road is said to be placing material at locations other than in his licensed junkyard. The driveway to the licensed area is blocked with material.

The town has received complaints about the properties over the years, Marble said, the most recent one being this fall.

Another property on Route 4 and Long Pond is in violation, the code officer says. In 1997, the owner brought additional property from an abutter and the two were to have been combined, according to building and shoreland zoning ordinances.

Now the landowner has sold one lot and kept the smaller parcel, Marble said. He sent a letter stating they must be recombined by Jan. 16, 2004.

Marble has applied for an $18,000 septic grant through the small community grant program, he said.

Administrative Assistant Kurt Schaub reported on an invitation from Alan Gove, town manager of Livermore Falls, to a joint meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 26 to discuss regional initiatives.

Trees have been removed from Hillman Cemetery, according to Dennis Stires, vice-chairman of the Cemetery Committee. Growth rings indicated one was 150 years old and the other 125 years, he said.
