1941 – 2003

BRUNSWICK – Beverly June Andrews, 62, of 89 Tuelltown Road in West Paris died, after a long illness, Thursday, Dec. 25, at Parkview Adventist Medical Center, surrounded by her husband and children.

Born June 16, 1941, in West Paris, the daughter of Lawrence and Grace (Skillings) Yates, she attended school in South Paris and graduated from Paris High School in 1959. She married Arden L. Andrews of West Paris on October 2 of that same year.

During her early, married life she worked alternately at various shoe shops in Norway and as a homemaker. After that she was a long-time employee of Norway National Bank where she processed bank instruments. Then, for more than 20 years, she was employed by C.N. Brown Co. of South Paris; first as an office clerk, later rising to the level of office manager. During the last years of her life she owned and operated her own business, J. B. Andrews Co., in which she designed, manufactured and marketed unique garden trellises to a nationwide clientele.

She was a former Cub Scout den mother and Girl Scout leader in her life-long hometown of West Paris. She also helped coach the girl’s softball team for that town at one time. She loved to travel and made trips to England, Bermuda and throughout the United States with her family.

A devoted mother and loving wife, she took time to enjoy gardening and her grandchildren in her final years. She knew the restorative power of growing beautiful flowers and creating beautiful garden spaces. Her family and friends will miss her deeply.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Arden L. Andrews; a son, James Andrews and his wife Claire of Farmington; two daughters, Bethany Curtis and her husband David of Lewiston and Jennifer Andrews of Brunswick; four grandchildren, Bailey Curtis, Kyla Curtis, Grace Andrews and Benjamin Andrews; two sisters, Eva “Polly” Durant of Otisfield and Hilda Yates of West Paris; two brothers, David Yates and Alvin Yates both of West Paris; and her mother, Grace Yates of West Paris.
