1939 – 2003
FARMINGTON – Donald W. “Luke” Hersey, 64, a resident of Pinewoods Road, Lisbon, died unexpectedly Thursday evening, Dec. 25, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
Born in Lewiston, April 18, 1939, the son of Ernest and Sadie Hersey, he was a life-long resident of Auburn, until his wife, Marlene died in June of 2002.
He had been employed over 15 years for Morin Brick Yard as a molder, until his retirement this past October. He enjoyed hunting, watching baseball, old war movies, as well as gardening. He had a thirst for knowledge and had read his encyclopedia set from cover to cover.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Jenkins of Auburn and Sadie Collins of Lewiston; one stepson, John Pinkham and his wife, Ruth of Auburn; two stepdaughters, Wanda Vaughan of Auburn and Tammy Pinkham of Sabattus; many brothers and sisters; as well as seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marlene Pinkham June 17, 2002.
