1923 – 2003

WEST PARIS – Roy Edmund Fowler, 80, of West Paris, husband of Tyyne (Waisenen) Fowler, died peacefully at his home with his loving family at his side on Dec. 24.

He was born in Newport, N.H., on Sept. 29, 1923, the son of Roy Edmund Myrtle (Corey) Fowler Sr.

He was an U.S. Army veteran having served in the European Theatre with the 825th tank destroyer battalion from 1941 to 1946. For the last 23 years he owned and operated Fowlers Small Engine and Tool Sharpening of West Paris.

In his younger years, he was a scoutmaster in Sunapee, N.H. He was a life member of the VFW & DAV and a member of the American Legion as well as a member of the North American Hunting Club and the NRA.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years of West Paris; two sons, Roger E. Fowler of Newport, N.H., and Robert E. Fowler of Claremont, N.H.; one daughter, Elizabeth Anne LaRocque of Claremont, N.H.; one brother, Carl Fowler of California; a half-brother, Wilfred Leslie of Orange, Mass.; one sister, Dorothy Whippie of Orange, Mass.; two half-sisters, Ruth Hastings of Sunapee, N.H., and Pearl Gagne of Southington, Conn.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
