1924 – 2003
LEWISTON – Shirley A. Milton, 79, of Kingfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, at the Central Maine Medical Center following a long illness. She had been a resident at the Edgewood Manor Nursing Home in Farmington for three and a half months.
Born in Kingfield, Dec. 10, 1924, the daughter of James and Sadie B. Milton, her education included graduation from Kingfield High School and Portland Business College.
Returning to Kingfield she was employed at H.G. Winter and Sons business office, after which she went to Hartford, Conn., in 1951, and was employed by the Travelers Insurance as a supervisor. She transferred to Travelers Insurance office in 1969, and retired from the Florida office in 1990, working for the company for 40 years.
Through the years she enjoyed traveling to many states and countries.
Survivors include two aunts, Laura Trask of Farmington and Alice McLaughlin of Kingfield; and close friend, Nadine Nichols of Kingfield.
