1939 – 2003

LEWISTON – Donald “Butch” Powers, 64, of Rocky Hill Drive, Brunswick, died Friday, Dec. 26, at a Lewiston Hospital.

He was born in Middleboro, Mass., the son of George and Elsie Carver Powers, on June 21, 1939. He was educated in Middleboro schools.

He was for many years the owner-operator of the Auburn Nursing Home. He was a member of the Mitchell Memorial Club in Middleboro and was an avid NASCAR racing fan.

He is survived by three children and their spouses, Douglass and Sonja Powers of North Yarmouth, Gary and Charlene Powers of Lewiston, and Cheryl and Timothy Lancaster of Freeport; a sister, Dorothy and her husband Richard Donovan Sr. of Middleboro, Mass.; his special companion, Jean Hanna; and six grandchildren.

His parents and a brother, Robert Powers, predeceased him.
