BRUNSWICK -Jeannette R. Menard, 70, of Dunning St., died Saturday, Dec. 27, at Mid Coast Hospital.

She was born in Lewiston, Sept. 4, 1933, the daughter of Roland and Lumina Cote Capen. She attended Auburn schools. While living in Hartford, Ct., she worked for Remington Typewriter and later worked as a waitress.

On May 11, 1957 she married Paul L. Menard. In 1959 they moved to Brunswick where Mrs. Menard waitressed at the Hotel Eagle and assisted with special events at Bowdoin College.

For twenty years she worked at Health Tex becoming a supervisor. From 1990 to 1996, she worked for the office of Morale, Welfare and Recreation at Brunswick Naval Air Station.

Mrs. Menard enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading and cooking. She enjoyed bowling with her husband and as a member of the Daughters of Isabella Father Remi Circle. She was a member of St. John’s the Baptist Church. Mrs. Menard had served as president of the St. John’s Band Parents Group and as treasurer of the Brunswick High School Band Parents Group. She also served on the housing committee for youth hockey travel teams.

Surviving, besides her husband of Brunswick, are: a daughter, Catherine Black of Brunswick; three sons, Kirk Menard of Dalton, N.H., Eugene Menard of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and William Menard of Orlando, Fla.; four sisters, Emma Holt of Sabattus, Nancy Lindgren of Jay, Arlene Lizzotte of Roseville, Calif., and Rolande Poulin of Auburn; and ten grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Bernadette Bernier in 1991, and a brother John Capen.
