CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – Police said a 24-year-old Concord man was arrested late Saturday night after driving a stolen vehicle into a police cruiser and leading authorities on a pursuit through five communities.

Police said they tried to stop Benjamin Ruiter in Concord around 11 p.m., but he initially sped off then backed the vehicle into a police cruiser, pushing it several hundred feet.

Authorities said Ruiter then led police on a pursuit through Allenstown, Pembroke, Epsom, Chichester and back into Concord, where he was arrested after his vehicle was disabled in another collision.

Ruiter faces a variety of charges, including theft and felony reckless conduct.

CONWAY, N.H. (AP) – Police are investigating possible connections between a drug store robbery in New Hampshire and other recent robberies at pharmacies in Maine.

Two men robbed a CVS pharmacy at gunpoint in Conway around 9:30 a.m. Friday. Police said the robbers were wearing black hooded sweat shirts and one carried a silver pistol.

Nobody was injured, and police would not reveal what was taken during the robbery.

Man injured during fight

SALEM, N.H. (AP) – Authorities were investigating a fight late Saturday night that left a man hospitalized with serious head injuries.

Police said they responded to a report of a man injured during a fight at a party just before midnight. The man, who was not been identified, was taken to a Boston hospital. No arrests were made, but police said there were witnesses and state and local police were investigating.
