AUBURN – Theresa Marie Sedgeley, 72, a resident of Stetson Road, died Monday morning, Dec. 29, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born in St. Agatha, July 10, 1931, the daughter of Phillip and Edna Derosier Bosse. She was educated in the grammar schools of St. Agatha, graduated from high school there in 1948 and was a 1951 graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing.
On May 4, 1953, she married Richard D. Sedgeley in Lewiston. He died Dec. 4, 2001, following the couple celebrating 47 years of marriage.
She was a Registered Nurse for most of her life having been employed at St. Mary’s Hospital for many years of her career as a psychiatric nurse. Following her retirement from nursing she worked along side her husband in Mr. Sedgeley’s Antique business, Sedgeley Associates.
Mrs. Sedgeley was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish and enjoyed c ooking, having collected over 2000 cookbooks, gardening and spending time with her friends. Her love for her husband Richard, the love for all her children and granddaughter were what had been most important in Terry’s life.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Ann S. Caron and her husband, Ralph, of Sabattus; three sons Arthur D. Sedgeley, of Parker, Co., Mark R. Sedgeley of Lewiston and Brian R. Sedgeley and his wife, Maryanne, of Davie, Fla.; two sisters Mrs. Irene Collins and Mrs. Marie (Flo) Coutier and her husband Jerry all of Ct.; a granddaughter, Rachel K. Sedgeley of Parker, Co.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister “Cookie” and a brother, Roger Bosse.
