TURNER – A downed transmission line knocked out power to 4,100 people in seven towns early Tuesday morning.

Gail Rice, spokesperson for Central Maine Power Co., said the line came down in Turner shortly after 6 a.m. She said power was restored at 10:40 a.m.

Rice said it was not known why the line came down.

Towns affected by the power loss included Buckfield, Canton, Hartford, Leeds, Livermore, Sumner and Turner.
