PORTLAND – Two baseball clinics are upcoming at Portland Sports Center at 512 Warren Ave.

The Scope and Rope, an advanced hitting camp for high school and college players, is slated for Jan. 24 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. The camp will be conducted by Red Sox hitting coordinator Orv Franchuk and Major League player development consultant Tony Abbatine.

The two-hour session includes pitch recognition and understanding visual mechanics, building a better hitter, and improving the mental game. A video analysis will be available.

The Mike Bordick Baseball Clinic, featuring Maine’s Major League infielder Mike Bordick and the Frozen Ropes staff, is set for January 30 from 5:30-9 p.m. Eligible are boys and girls ages 5-18. Cost is $95.
