SOUTH PORTLAND – Ellen E. Seeling, 50, of Day Street, South Portland, died Monday, Dec. 30, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Michigan City, Ind., she was the daughter of Kenneth and Bette Brown Seeling. She was educated in Michigan City schools and went on to earn a master’s in theater from Brandeis University.

She was a professor of theater at Bates College and a member of United Scenic Artists.

She will be lovingly remembered by her partner of 14 years, Regina Pistilli of So. Portland; her parents of Michigan City; and two brothers, Martin and Brad Seeling.
