1950 – 2003

PORTLAND – Anthony “Tony” DiMillo, 53, of Veranda Street, Portland, known in the L-A area, died Monday, Dec. 29, at his home, after a long illness.

Born in Portland, May 18, 1950, the oldest son of Albert and Brigida Reali DiMillo, he attended local schools and graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in 1968. He also took courses at both USM and SMTC during his lifetime.

Mr. DiMillo supported his family, working as a brick mason for many years. He also worked in several family restaurants as a cook, bartender, chef, kitchen manager and kitchen designer before becoming disabled in 1996.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed watching sports and listening to music on his ever improving stereo equipment. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with and cooking for all of his family.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Gail (Hutchins) DiMillo; his parents; two sons, Michael DiMillo of Atlanta, Ga., and Paul DiMillo of Portland; a daughter, Antonia DiMillo of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Patricia and Paul Pelletier of Portland, Katherine (Kathy) Edwards of Scarborough, Justina (Tina) and James Grattelo of Biddeford, Paula and James Aceto of Westbrook; brothers, Albert and Linda DiMillo Jr. of Hampton, N.H., Vincent and Therese DiMillo of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Edward DiMillo of South Portland; three nieces; seven nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
