TURNER – As a part of a weeklong tour of Maine, the Pinnacle Brass will present a benefit concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, in Leavitt Area High School’s auditorium.

Members of the quintet are Cassandra Large of Mount Vernon and Jesse King from Albany, N.Y. on trumpet; french hornist Tyler Ogilvie and trombonist Matt Haines both from Long Island, N.Y.; and tubist Christian Carichner from Horseheads, N.Y.

Pinnacle Brass is a student-directed brass group from Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y. They’ve performed in numerous concerts and master classes throughout New York State and Maine.

Last summer, they participated in the Rekkenze Brass Quintet Festival in Hoff, Germany. At Ithaca, they perform regularly for academic ceremonies, both inside and outside the School of Music, as well as for community festival and holiday celebrations.

Their music selections for the concert will include a broad range of styles, including Bach, Holst, Bernstein and Brubeck.

The concert proceeds will support the Leavitt Area High School music program.

Admission will be $5 at the door.
