I am very concerned about reporting in the Sun Journal. I have been a reader all my life and have noticed a new trend.
Stories from some of the staff writers seem to be for entertainment purposes and not cold, hard facts. The newspaper should be a source of local and national news, not articles that could be printed in the National Enquirer.
Recently, a reporter did a piece on paranormal activity and how local people were assisted with this (Dec. 29). How shameful for the Sun Journal to print an article on people being taken for a ride. Those people were preyed upon into believing a group could help them. They obviously have some serious issues to deal with within their own family unit and to exploit it as news was just plain wrong.
If Sun Journal reporters would stop trying to mimic Dave Barry, we might see some worthwhile news.
Many readers are longtime residents of this community and some of them are talking about your paper negatively.
Time to get back to being the local newspaper and reporting the cold, hard facts.
