POLAND – Senior forward Mindy Thomas drained 17 points and tabbed nine rebounds to spark Poland to a 52-49 triumph over Freeport in WMC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

It was Poland’s first win of the season. Abby Perkins contributed 12 points for the Knights (1-7). Dani O’Rourke-Suchoff recorded the game-high 18 points for the Falcons (1-7).

Madison 39, Monmouth 36

MONMOUTH – Melody Rich scored a team-high 13 points to propell Madison to a 39-36 win over Monouth.

The Bulldogs (3-4) took a 25-12 lead into the intermission, and then withstood a 17-6 fourth quarter charge by the Mustangs (1-6) to squeak out the three-point victory.

Monmouth was paced by Courtney Barett (13 points) and Bianca Cloutier (12 Points) in the loss.

Eastgate 49, Islesboro 29

LINCOLNVILLE – Angie Elvin scored 10 of her 12 points in the second half and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Eastgate Christian Academy to a 49-29 win over Islesboro.

Brittany Lagere chipped in with 11 points to round out Eastgate scoring attack.

Krysti Hall and Kate Hampridge’s chipped in with 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Islesboro.
