1921 – 2004

SOUTH PARIS – Jeannette Clark Clifford, 82, of South Paris died Saturday, Jan. 3, at Market Square Health Care Center.

She was born on April 21, 1921, the daughter of Malcolm Gerry and Lois Curtis Clark. She graduated from South Paris High School and the former Central Maine General Hospital School of Nursing. She also attended the University of Cincinnati.

She married Thomas Lane Clifford at Wiscasset on Jan. 28, 1950.

She was employed by Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Children’s Hospital in Boston, St. Mary’s and Central Maine Medical Center’s of Lewiston and Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.

She was an instructor at Poland Spring Job Corps, and worked in area doctor’s offices. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Paris and the Ladies Circle. She had done volunteer work at the church and at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

She was Trustee Emeritus of the Paris Cape Historical Society, Trustee Emeritus of the Paris Public Library, past member of the North American Family Camping Association as well as State Secretary and Newsletter Editor of the same.

She was a past member of Jefferson Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed doing geneology, knitting and playing bridge.

She is survived by a son, Thomas C.; two grandchildren; and several cousins.
