RANGELEY – Police are investigating two missing snowmobiles and a trailer taken from Oquossoc Marine. The package is valued at nearly $12,000.

Rangeley police Chief Phil Weymouth said that a man dropped off two 2001 Polaris 550 Super Sports, one black, one blue on Dec. 20 to have them worked on.

When an employee of the business went out to get them Dec. 30, the black enclosed sled bed trailer and the machines were gone, he said.

Weymouth said the business had six trailers like the one that is missing.

Weymouth said he’s hoping that someone took the wrong trailer by accident and has yet to check inside it.

Weymouth said the business is researching its records in case the snowmobiles were taken by error.
