BUCKFIELD – Kelly Davis, 14, of Buckfield, attended the Maine State PTA Reflections Awards ceremony on Oct. 25 at Sable Oakes Hotel in South Portland. The theme was “Signs of Courage.”

Davis was with her family at the dinner banquet. She received medals and congratulations from State PTA President Jeffrey Pierce and National PTA President-Elect Anna Weselak.

Davis received “Outstanding Interpretation” (first in the state) in the junior division of photography for her color photo of a small single flag placed in front of the Vietnam Memorial wall in Washington, D.C. The entry was titled “Our Nation’s Fallen Heros.”

She also received a medal for placing first in the junior division in music. She composed and performed a piano piece titled “One Room World.”

Davis is the daughter of Scott and Holly Davis of Buckfield. She is a freshman at Edward Little High School. Besides playing the piano, she sings in the honor chorus, plays bass clarinet in the band, dances en pointe ballet with Sandy’s School of Dance and runs cross country in the fall.
