In a case of life not resembling art very much at all, “Friends” star Courteney Cox is pregnant.
Several news outlets, the syndicated show Access Hollywood first among them, are reporting that the 39-year-old Cox and her husband, actor David Arquette, 32, are expecting their first child.
The actress’ reps aren’t releasing any more details at the moment.
The couple have been trying to conceive for some time but have had difficulty, including several miscarriages.
They’ve shared their frustrations in a number of interviews in recent months.
That part of Cox’s story parallels that of Monica, the character she plays on NBC’s “Friends.” However, the show is in the midst of a storyline in which Monica and husband Chandler (Matthew Perry) are starting the adoption process. It’s unclear for now how the show, entering the final 10 episodes of its 10-season run, will deal with Cox’s real-life pregnancy.
The confirmation of Cox’s pregnancy comes a few months after David Arquette’s brother, Alexis, told Sharon Osbourne on her talk show that his sister-in-law was pregnant.
Cox’s reps quickly quashed the rumor.
