LOWELL, Mass. (AP) – Andrej Podkonicky scored at 1:12 of overtime to lift the Portland Pirates to a 3-2 victory over the Lowell Lock Monsters on Wednesday night.

Podkonicky’s goal, which came off a redirection of a Josef Boumedienne shot, extended Portland’s unbeaten streak to nine games. Brent Krahn made 42 saves for Lowell (13-17-2-2), which has lost four straight.

Maxime Ouellet turned in a 34-save effort for the Pirates (15-14-4-3).

Portland took a 2-0 lead on second-period goals by Jason Ulmer and Boumedienne.

The Pirates were trying for their fifth shutout in their last seven games but Lowell scored two goals in the opening 6:12 of the third period. Pavel Brendl scored on a power play for his 17th goal of the season at 3:52, and defenseman Allan Rourke put in the rebound of a Brendl shot to tie the game.
