RANGELEY – David Jensen poured in 20 points to pace Rangeley to a narrow 41-38 EWC victory over Waynflete in boys’ basketball action Wednesday evening.
James Raymond and Brian White chipped in with six points each for the Lakers (5-0). White’s defensive effort was key in the win, as he held Waynflete’s star player to under 10 points.
Andrew Veroneau led the scoring effort for Waynflete (0-7) with 10 points.
Hockey
Hebron 3, Berwick 1
HEBRON -Mark Simms scored two goals as Hebron defeated Berwick 3-1 Wednesday afternoon.
Luke MacDonald added the third Hebron score. Sam Castle was the lone Berwick goal scorer.
Greely 5, Win-Dale 1
FALMOUTH – Pat Fogg netted a pair of goals Wednesday to lead Greely to a 5-1 victory over Win-Dale in high school hockey action.
Nick Spaulding tallied a third-period goal for Greely, while single goals by Andrew Bisbee and Bill Greene completed the scoring. Billy Bolduc made seven shots in net to notch the win.
Nate Frechette scored the lone goal for Win-Dale (2-4) on a power play just 29 seconds into the second period. Brandon Ellis turned away 23 of 28 shots in net.
