Patrice Bergeron’s power play tally guides Boston past Pittsburgh.

BOSTON (AP) – Patrice Bergeron scored the tiebreaking goal with 2:52 remaining to help the Boston Bruins extend their unbeaten streak to four games with a 3-1 victory Thursday night over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Bergeron scored a rare power-play goal for Boston when his wrist shot went over the shoulder of Penguins goalie Jean-Sebastien Aubin. The Bruins had scored only four goals in their previous 62 power-play opportunities.

Sean O’Donnell and Mike Knuble also scored for Boston. After winning three games in December and going 0-5-4 in nine games at home, the Bruins are 3-0-1 in their last four.

Tom Kostopolous appeared to put Pittsburgh ahead 3:04 into the third period when the puck bounced in off his shoulder, but the goal was reviewed and disallowed.

Martin Strbak scored on one of Pittsburgh’s 17 second-period shots to tie it 1-1 at 6:29. He converted a pass from Brian Holzinger on a two-on-one and beat Andrew Raycroft.

The goal snapped a shutout streak of 121:14 for Raycroft, who is 3-6-5 in his last 14 decisions. Raycroft assisted on the go-ahead goal and made 31 saves for the Bruins.

O’Donnell gave Boston a 1-0 lead when he scored his first goal of the season, beating Aubin at 8:23 of the first period. O’Donnell has six points this season, but four in the last three games.

Steve McKenna had an assist for the Penguins, who have scored nine goals in their last six games and allowed 23 in that stretch.

Knuble added an empty-net goal with 31.7 seconds remaining.
