BRUNSWICK – Roderick S. Vogel has joined The Nature Conservancy, the state’s leading land conservation organization, as director of philanthropy. The Conservancy is a private, nonprofit organization that has protected some 870,000 acres of Maine’s wildlife habitat.

Previously, Vogel spent 16 years as a senior manager with Fleet Bank’s investment division in Portland. A trustee of the Maine Island Trail Association and the Children’s Theatre of Maine, Vogel has been involved with the Maine Association of Nonprofits, Maine Philanthropy Center and Cumberland County YMCA Endowment and Investment Committee.
