AUBURN – Charles Colgan, professor of public policy and management in the University of Southern Maine’s Muskie School, will unveil his 2004 economic forecast for Maine on Thursday, Jan. 15.

The meeting of the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce is set from 7:15 to 9 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 14 Great Falls Plaza. The presentation starts about 8.

The event is sponsored by the University of Southern Maine/Central Maine Community College Corporate Partners.

A former state economist, Colgan chairs the Maine Consensus Economic Forecasting Commission, which prepares an economic outlook report for state budget preparation. Colgan will share his predictions for 2004, based on his analysis of employment trends, income, retail sales and a range of other indicators.

Colgan will also present his predictions at a breakfast meeting from 7:15 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at USM’s Woodbury Campus Center, Bedford Street, Portland. The presenation starts about 8 a.m.
