BETHEL – Master Maine Guide and Gould Academy math teacher John Wight and freshman student Aimey Harrison will be featured on the New England Sports Network’s CamoKidz Program to be aired at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14.
NESN host Tim Lajoie, a lifelong sportsman and founder of the New England Sports Network’s CamoKidz Program, joined Wight and Harrison for a day of fly-fishing on the Androscoggin River last fall to film the half-hour segment. Gould Academy’s location in Bethel is considered a premier destination for fly-fishing.
When not teaching, Wight spends much of his time from spring through fall leading guided fishing trips down the Androscoggin and other rivers in a custom-designed drift boat that he built.
Aimey Harrison, who grew up at her parents’ sporting camp in northern Maine, came to Gould as a first-year student this fall. She has continued to pursue her lifelong interest in fly-fishing during weekend fishing trips with Wight and other students from Gould.
