1918 – 2004

LACONIA, N.H. – Mary R. (Brisson) Oliver, 87, formerly of 70 Williams St., Berlin, N.H., died Jan. 13, at the Belknap County Nursing Home where she had been a resident since April 9, 1998.

Born at St. Isadore, P.Q., Canada, April 13, 1918, the daughter of Alcide and Georgianna (Dodler) Brisson, she came to Berlin with her family from St. Isadore in 1925.

She attended local schools and graduated from St. Regis Academy. She resided in Berlin until she moved to Laconia to be with her daughters in 1997.

After they were married, she and her husband resided in the Cascade area of Gorham and Berlin, where she was very active at St. Benedict Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also being at her camp in Bryant Pond.

Survivors include two daughters, Sylvia Metivier and Mary Ann Wilson, both of Laconia, N.H.; a son, Edgar Oliver of Florida; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Norman Oliver in 1984; four brothers, Wilfred, Dick, Roma and Germain Brisson; and three sisters, Jean and Frances Brisson and Gladys Brideau.
