1943 – 2004
TURNER – John L. Jenkins, 60, of 103 Potato Road, Turner, died Thursday, Jan. 15, following a long illness, with his wife by his side.
Mr. Jenkins was born in Hadley, N.Y., Oct. 22, 1943, the son of Lewis and Dora (Stone) Jenkins. He was educated in the schools of Hadley, N.Y. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.
He was employed as a tractor trailer driver for many years and after moving to Maine in 1985, he worked in the field of construction.
He married Carmen (Jordan) Powell on Dec. 31, 1990. He enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, camping and all other outdoor activities.
Survivors include his wife of Turner; his father, Lewis Jenkins of Hadley N.Y.; two sons, Daniel and his wife Donna of Northville, N.Y., and John Jr. of Glens Falls, N.Y.; two daughters, Kelly Ellis and Samantha Eastman both of Hadley, N.Y.; one stepson, Rodney Powell and wife Kristine of Turner; one stepdaughter, Lisha Tremblay of Turner; one sister, Judy Fraiser of Mayfield, N.Y.; two brothers, Joel of Corinth, N.Y., and Jim of Hadley, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren, Daniel Jenkins, Kristina Jenkins, Jared Ellis, Jordan Ellis, Krista Jenkins, Gage Jenkins, John Jenkins, Trevor Eastman, Chad Tremblay, Nicole Tremblay, Brandon Powell and Matthew Powell.
He was predeceased by his mother, Dora Jenkins; and a sister, Joann Day.
