I would like to send out my thanks to the City Council for working to keep the Maineiacs in Lewiston. The Maineiacs bring a great level of hockey to a great hockey town. These kids play their hearts out, every game, hoping to make it to the NHL.

I have the privilege to know a couple of the players personally, Jonathan Paiement and Kevin Turgeon, and they are extraordinary gentleman. The players always take time for the fans. After every home game, they meet with the fans and sign autographs or just chat.

I am proud to call them my hometown team. I would much rather go and support these fine young men than travel to Portland to see the Pirates play. I personally feel that the Maineiacs provide a better class of hockey. These games are fast paced and full of action.

If you have not been to a game yet please go. I promise that you will not be disappointed.
