1915 – 2004

LEWISTON – William K. Woodworth, 88, formerly of 152 Summer St., Auburn, died Saturday Jan. 17, at Montello Manor.

He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 20, 1915, the son of Donald and Lillian (Newell) Woodworth. He was educated in the schools of Lewiston and Auburn, he graduated from Edward Little High School the class of 1934.

He was employed by Bates Manufacturing Co. for over 27 years, also worked at other local mills, and in his younger days he worked for the family owned and operated Woodworth’s Bicycle and Machine Shop.

Mr. Woodworth was a well-known musician, playing drums with Lloyd Rafnel, Cliff Lachance and the Mello-Tones. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by two sons, Richard and Robert Woodworth both of Lewiston; two granddaughters, Pennie and her husband Danial Giguere of Auburn and Shari and her husband Shaun Pearson of Auburn; three great-grandchildren Lucas, Cassandra Giguere and Shaun Pearson all of Auburn.

He was predeceased by one brother, Truman Hollis, who was the former Headmaster at Momouth Academy; and one sister, Mildred Reed
